A WORD FROM OUR LEADERSHIP

A Word from Our Leadership on Women in Ministry

As part of the Assemblies of God, Chapel Springs Church traces its roots to an early 1900’s spiritual movement birthed on the margins of society. There, the Holy Spirit offered dignity and destiny to those whom society silenced and deemed unworthy. Through a historic outpouring of the Spirit, God gave powerful voices to the unlikely and powerless to proclaim hope and freedom through Jesus. This spiritual DNA enables us to view the world through our Father’s eyes—across races, languages, social class, economic status, skin color, and gender.

The Assemblies of God has historically affirmed that on the day of Pentecost, as recorded in Acts 2, the Spirit empowered both women and men to minister in His Kingdom as a diverse, unified community of faith. As the prophet Joel prophesied, God’s sons and daughters received access to the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.

The leadership of Chapel Springs Church, in alignment with the Assemblies of God Bylaws, strongly affirms that “divinely called and qualified women may also serve the church in the ministry of the Word ... and are eligible to serve in all levels of church ministry and/or district and General Council leadership.” Therefore, you will see women at Chapel Springs serving in God’s Kingdom as pastors, preachers, deacons, directors, and ministry leaders. We believe Jesus’ redemptive work reverses the curse of sin and empowers women and men to become equal partners in God’s Kingdom, functioning together on mission, as God originally intended in Genesis 1 & 2.
