Mark 3:20-21 NIV

20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

Mark 3:31-32 NIV

31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”

Mark 33:35 NIV

33 “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.

34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

There is an eternal family that precedes and transcends all earthly ones.

Jesus came to fulfill the family plan of God.

You enter God’s family not through natural birth, but through a spiritual one.

Our earthly-temporal families are intended to be pathways toward, and reflections of our spiritual-eternal family.

The will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing the spiritual growth of another.

1 John 3:16,18 NIV

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters…18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
