SERMON NOTES

Romans 8:22-25 NIV

22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

Through the groaning of birth pains, God came to us as one of us.
And amid all of creation groaning, He will return.

Advent Practice #1
When you see something this season that you want, turn your attention to the unseen reality of God’s kingdom.
Ask: Father, use me to show someone that doesn’t know You the reality of Your love.

Advent Practice #2
Practice eager, patient waiting this season. Embrace the delays, the long lines, and the heavy traffic.
Ask: Jesus, how can I more eagerly and patiently wait for Your return?

Christ has died
Christ is risen
Christ will come again!
Amen
