WELCOME TO SPRINGTIME KIDS

Welcome to SpringTime Kids, our ministry designed especially for children from birth through preschool. Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy, and loving environment where our children learn that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.

We offer SpringTime Kids classes during each of our regular services and most special events.

SpringTime Kids ministry is available at:

6:00 pm on Saturday evenings
9:30 am & 11:00 am Sunday mornings
7:30 pm Wednesday nights.

SOME ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

Right inside the doors of the SpringTime Kids wing you will find our check-in desk where our staff will help you register your child and get them checked into the class that’s right for them.
In most cases children quickly adjust. The teachers and staff are trained to deal with upset children. However, if your child continues to cry for more than 10 minutes, we will page you.
Each parent is asked to select a paging option. Text paging is available directly to your cell phone. If you would prefer, we provide pagers. If you feel the pager vibrate (it will not make noise), please return to the SpringTime Kids check-in desk immediately.
Upon check in, each child is given a name tag. He/She is assigned a random code on his/her name tag. You will be given a security tag with the same code. When you pick up your child you must present the teacher with the matching security tag. No tag, no child, no exceptions.
If you ever lose your child’s security tag you will need to provide some form of photo identification, allowing the staff to easily verify the information with what you provided on your child’s registration form.
We would like to remind you to please keep your child at home with any of the following
symptoms or illnesses:

• Fever of 100 degrees or higher
• Questionable Rashes
• Coughing
• Discolored Mucus from Nose
• Diarrhea (24 hours symptom free)
• Vomiting (24 hours symptom free)
• Impetigo
• FLU – (7 days from onset & 24 hours symptom free)
• Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
• Mouth sores or spots on hands, tongue or face, this is a sign of Hand Foot and Mouth disease.
• Active Chicken Pox
• Measles
• Mumps

If being treated with antibiotics, children should be taking the medication for 24 hours and fever/symptom free before coming to the SpringTime Kids wing.

We realize that some symptoms are allergy or post illness related and are non-contagious. If that is the case, please let us know.

We want all of our children to remain healthy and happy!

We provide a bible based curriculum that introduces children to their Heavenly Father. This curriculum, along with worship music, crafts, and story time supports our mission to make sure that every child in SpringTime Kids begins their journey into a relationship with God knowing three fundamental truths: God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.
Because we believe that parents have the greatest voice in their child’s life, we provide parents with take home material each week that coincides with the lesson your children learned. This empowers parents to reinforce and model these lessons throughout the week.
We do our best to accommodate any special needs of the children in our care. Please note any allergies, medical issues, or other special needs on your child’s registration form. Feel free to discuss this with your child’s teacher or a SpringTime Kids Coordinator. In case of emergencies, our staff is trained in basic First Aid and CPR.
All team members must fill out a Ministry Service Application. We contact two references and conduct a national criminal background check. All team members are screened and trained.
The Nursing Mothers Room is located in the SpringTime Kids wing. The room is equipped with rockers, a sink, a changing area, and a closed circuit feed of the service.
We provide the Family Room for parents who need to change their child’s diaper or a quiet place to stay with an upset or active child. The Family Room contains rockers, a changing area, a sink, a crib, and a selection of toys for your child. A live stream of the service plays on a big screen.
In order to create a safe and fun learning environment, we must maintain adequate adult/child ratios in each classroom. We ask one parent from each family to serve once a month in SpringTime Kids. Any parent that wishes to utilize SpringTime Kids will be enrolled in our parent-based rotation.
Our ratios are as follows:

1 adult for every 4 infants
1 adult for every 5 toddlers
1 adult for every 6 two and three year olds
1 adult for every 10 four and five year olds

Once these ratios have been met, we will not accept any more children until we can add another adult team member. For the care and safety of our children, we will not exceed or extend these ratios.

SPRINGTIME KIDS PARENTS

Every parent gets to play!

Are you a parent of a child under the age of 5? If you are, you’re automatically considered part of SpringTime Kids, a wonderful team of caring parents who work together to minister to our kids.

We ask every parent (or other member of your family age 16+*) to serve in SpringTime Kids for one service time, once per month. Your once-monthly service in SpringTime Kids is key to both you and your child’s spiritual growth, as you experience the joy of serving the very youngest citizens of God’s kingdom.

*(If a teen family member is serving for the required once per month service, they must be at least 16 years old. Teens as young as 12 can serve in SpringTime Kids, but only 16 + can fill in for parent based requirements.)

You don’t need to be a parent to serve.

SpringTime Kids team positions are open to anyone with a heart for ministering to little ones. There is room on the team for everyone! Serve as a lead teacher in your favorite classroom, or come rock babies – your choice. We’d love to have you as part of this rewarding team.

Serving opportunities:

Saturday Nights
5:45pm – 7:30pm

Sunday Mornings

First Hour: 9:15am – 11:00am
Second Hour: 10:45am – 12:30pm

Wednesday Nights
7:15pm – 9:00pm

Getting Started

  • Fill out the Ministry Service Application form and return it to the Spring Time Kids Check-in desk.
  • Everyone serving with children at Chapel Springs must attend a screening meeting and complete a background check.
  • Once the form is turned in and you’ve attended a screening meeting, we will contact you to get you started.
  • We’ll remind you each month via text and email when it’s your turn to serve.

Adult/Child Ratios

If there are not enough parent team members in a classroom, we must close in order to keep your kids safe and make sure adequate attention is paid to each child. It’s our goal that we’ll never have to close a classroom because there aren’t enough parents to serve. It’s easy to meet this goal if every family does their part.

You will always work with at least one other adult either as the assistant, or if you prefer, as the lead teacher.

It’s easy, fun, and rewarding! We will train you as an assistant in the classroom “on the job” and also offer “short and sweet” training luncheons that take place Sunday after services 4 times a year.

What Will I Be Doing?

If you choose to serve as an assistant, you will always serve with a lead teacher who will guide you. If you chose to serve as a lead teacher, you will always have at least one assistant in the classroom to help you.

Don’t let the term “lead teacher” scare you! These are still SpringTime Kids parents who have decided they want to serve in this role. The Chapel Springs staff for Spring Time Kids provides all of the curriculum, music, stories, lesson plans, craft supplies, instructions, snacks, class time schedule, and anything else you may need for every teacher, in every classroom.

Here is a list of some of the things you’ll be doing, depending on which classroom you choose to serve in. Its not a complete list, and will vary a little if you choose to be a lead teacher

  • Assist lead teacher
  • Rock babies; sing to them if you want
  • Change diapers
  • Feed infants
  • Serve a snack
  • Help supervise and interact during play time
  • Assist with bathroom breaks and/or diaper changing
  • Assist with the craft
  • Help children get ready at the end of service
