SERMON NOTES

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3

The Risen Way…

…is a way of Great Mercy.

…is a way of New Life.

…is a way of Undying Hope.

When the disciple Peter walked out of the empty tomb, he was never the same again. The reality of Jesus’ resurrection literally changed the trajectory of his life. He went from being a disappointing failure, to living a new life of hope and purpose. His letter to the church, written several years later, reveals a man who’s learned to humbly walk “The Risen Way” of Christ.

The same can be true of us. As we put our faith in our resurrected savior, he invites us to walk a new way. It’s a way that relies on God’s great mercy, rather than our attempts to measure up. It’s a way of faith, trusting in Jesus’ spiritual life being formed within us. It’s a way of undying hope, confident in His future promise to make all things new.

Wherever we are on the journey of faith, may each of us take our next step along “The Risen Way!”
